What is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?
The pelvic floor includes the layers of muscles inside your pelvis that accomplish several functions including holding in and releasing urine and feces, supporting surrounding organs and aiding in sexual function. Pelvic Floor Dysfunction encompasses many disorders of the pelvic floor muscles, but can also include the local and surrounding nerves, joints and organ systems.
Symptoms:
-Leaking urine when coughing, sneezing, and laughing
-Strong sudden urge to urinate accompanied with leaking
-Pain with intervourse, using tampons or during pelvic exams
-Feeling of bulging or falling out
